"Cannon on the road" was one of my first deviations. I decided to post it in an higher resolution, because the original was too small to appreciate it. Unfortunately, the original photo was made by night with a 6630 cellphone camera (had only that with me T_T), so the quality remains poor.
But the photo itself is still very fascinating to me. A bit of history: In June 2004 I was enjoying an holiday with my friend Massimiliano ([link]) in Agropoli, a small medieval city on Salerno's gulf. A part of its small population still lives in the old houses around the castle. We were walking in the night in the most ancient part of the town, when we saw something on the side of the road. We went nearer, and we discovered that it was an ancient, abandoned cannon. I wonder if its rusty shape is still there, waiting for someone to tell its story. p.s. My thanks to my dearest friend Haematinon: his suggestions have been precious for resizing the photo without losing too much quality. And, of course, I thank him for hosting me and being with me in that funny and joyful holiday. |

you know how hard it can be to keep
believing in me when everything and
everyone becomes my enemy...

maybe someday I'll return there to see if the cannon is still on that wall.
